šŸŽ™ļø I’m launching a podcast — and it’s not what you think.

When I speak with people about AI in the workplace, I seem to encounter everything from fear to optimism to suspicion. But most conversations seem to be focused on what we might lose: jobs, relevance, human connection…

Most of us seem to be imagining a world where the bots take over, and there’s a doomsday tone to it.Ā

There’s a good reason for that. There is such a rush from the companies developing AI to be the first to market that I’m not sure there’s a whole lot of thought going into the implications and potential unintended consequences.

I think it’s time we flipped the script.Ā

It’s time we started imagining a world where humans are at the center, and the bots are supporting a vision we’ve created.Ā

This isn’t just being shaped by the tech companies. Every leader and every person in an organization is making decisions, big and small, that are shaping this disruption.Ā

But here’s what I keep seeing: Organizations are scrambling to plug in AI tools, but they’re missing a bigger opportunity.Ā

As humans, we have unique capabilities around creativity, empathy, collaboration, and connection. Yet in most organizations we treat people like robots — we keep ourselves siloed, we clock in and clock out, and use control and compliance to manage people.

We need to shift the conversation to: what does it look like to optimize for what humans do best, and strategically outsource the rest to AI in a thoughtful way?

That’s the conversation I’m starting with Optimized for Humans.
